Abell Pumpkin Carving Kit - Review

If you have read any of my other post on here you would know that we love Halloween around here. First day of October we have all of our Halloween stuff out and ready to celebrate. However there is one thing that we do wait to do, and that is carving our pumpkin's. Being in the Texas heat makes carved pumpkins go bad really fast, so we wait until as close to Halloween as we possibly can get.

This year it happened to be the day before Halloween. So we went and got our to pumpkin's this past weekend that the girls wanted to carve up, then we set out our work space, and the tools. Most of the time we get those crapy carving kits from the local grocery store that literally fall apart as you're using them. However this year I got picked to try out some carving tools from Abell and I have to say that I am really impressed. The little kit comes with a scraper, grooving toll, scooper, big saw and little saw, drill, and two LED candles. The tools are very well made, I like that the handles go from a point to a wide base because it makes it easier to hold. They don't bend or kink up like normal store pumpkin carving tools. They were really easy to use, even our youngest one was able to help. I do highly recommend that you monitor any children there are working with these tools as they are sharp and pointy.

These have to be the best carving tools I have ever used, and that's because like I said earlier they didn't fall apart in my hands. Over all really great investment because you can continue to use them year after year, there made very well, and you can just stick I'm back into their Box for storage.

Big Hippo Seat Cushion - Review

Some people have posh offices, with the nicest desk and office chair you can find. Other's have a cheap desk and a semi nice office chair. Other have a kitchen table and a kitchen chair. I personally am a mix of the last two. I do have a decent desk, but I don't use it as often because I need to organize my space, which I'll do that this weekend. Most of the time I am the kitchen table with my kiddos. I am working away while they are doing school work (we home school), playing with an activity, coloring, or whatever. Now I have some real wood chairs and kitchen table. Like heave, old wood. So sitting in one of these chairs for a period of time can hurt ones... bum.

I am a constant mover so that makes it worse on me. I have my legs moving, I'll have one folded under, I'll have one folded over, but I always have at least one leg moving. Anyone that's sat in an old wooden chair will tell you that it's not easy on those balls on the side of your ankles. I normally always have a cover under me to help cushion the blow. It works but covers go flat after a while.

The Big Hippo Seat Cushion has memory foam, so it will come back to it's shape after use. Which is great because no one likes a flat cushion. The good thing is that you can take it any where and use it any where your bum make sit. I have used it at the kitchen table, my office and on my floor. So far so good, and it has made sitting down more enjoyable.

                                                    Bottom                                     Top

At 15.7 inch X 15.7 inch it fit most standard seats, if needed you can easily squish it to fit. There is about 2 inches of foam to sit on. Now it is not non-slip, so be careful when you use it on smooth surfaces. It would be nice if it came with that option. Over all it has helped my bum feel better after sitting for a period of time, and it goes anywhere I need it to go.

White Ghost Lights - Review

Halloween, Halloween, HALLOWEEN!

My family and I absolutely love Halloween. The cold air starts coming in, the leaves change, pumpkins show up at stores, candy is out for trick or treating. The only thing that is better is the decorations that come with it. Every year I try to get my house set up earlier and earlier, but every year my family says no you need to wait until the 1st of October.

You can bet as soon as October 1st hits I have all of the decorations out and ready to go. No room is left untouched, from the bathroom to the pantry. Some thing some where in a room is related to Halloween. Within the past year or so we have started to add Halloween colored lights. Purple, green, orange decorate my kitchen and windows.

I have this really cute cut out from between my living room and dinning room. I have an old stick hanging up with wire, so instead of taking it down I put up glow in the dark spider web and it looks awesome. My new addition to the cut out are these cute little ghost lights.

These little guys come 20 to a strand and have a good stretch. I like these better than the normal lights we use for Halloween because you don't need a plug close by. They are powered by three AA batteries, and the last a long time.

As you can see the little battery pack is sitting on top of my stick. Now you can attach these ghost lights as you need for your house. I use thumb tacks because they are the easiest for use to use.

The light's look good when they are off, but look even better then you turn them on. Now you would think they only turn off and on, which would you would be correct, but they also flash as well. They are really cute, and I prefer for them to the flashing. The lights are very bright LED lights, and the shine down into the plastic causing it to illuminate. I am going to try to link a video below, if I can't get it to work visit my Facebook page to see it action - click here

The only warning I can give about the ghost lights is to be careful when you take them out of the box or storage. The arms of the ghost can become tangled with the wire. You don't wan to be aggressive and rip the wire out of the lights, that wouldn't be any fun.

So for the price of $8.49 you can have your own set of ghost lights, as of 10/23/18. They also have other options to pick from like pumpkins and bats. These would be great for any Halloween parties or events because they are easy to operate, put up and take down. I can't wait to get more lights for next year!

Lekeye Bathroom Shower Drain Hair Catcher - Review

Lekeye Bathroom Shower Drain Hair Catcher

When we moved into our house you could tell that the bathrooms were built in the 1960's. We don't even have electric outlets in the the bathrooms. That's how old the house is. One major issue, outside of the outlets, is the tub. It's small and the drain catcher has been missing, way before we even moved in. So having hair clogs happens more often than we would like. We have tried other hair catchers that you install, but never lasted long as they were hard to remove. In comes the Lekeye hair catcher's.

I highly recommend starting with the little one that actually goes inside of your drain. It comes with 3 rubber seal that allow you to adjust the size to get the best first for your drains. It has three little feet that come down from the top so that it rest on top of your drain. Allowing water and hair to go down and get caught. It's easy to install as you only need to pull off and put on the right size rubber seal, then just insert it into your drain. I clean it after each shower to help minimize it getting clogged itself. The smaller one is by far my more favorite one.

The larger one just sit on top of your drain. allowing water to flow through it into the drain and catching hair at the same time. It kind of looks like an upside down strainer on your drain. It works just as well as the smaller one. It's really your preference on which one you want to use.

I like that it's made of stainless steel, which helps prevent rust and to me stainless steel is easy to clean. You can pick from a few different colors to get one that goes with your style the best. The larger one is grate for going over a stopper with it's high dome. Why they make stoppers that aren't removable and don't catch hair is beyond me. So finally thought and suggestion. If you live in an older house and have a bath that has seen better days you need to invest in one of these lovely hair catchers. That way you can keep your pipes clear longer.

Ergonomic Foot Rest Review

  Ergonomic Foot Rest Review

If you are like me you do a lot of work for in your desk. You also probably like to prop your feet up while you're at your desk. Sometimes you use a bag, a trash can, or anything that's small with a little bit of elevation that you can get your hands on. Those items can be hard, tip over, or even start to deflate. None of that is any fun when you are trying to be comfy.

In comes the Ergonomic Foot Rest. Comfy and easy to use. Two of the best things anyone wants to hear. This little foot hammock, as I like to call it, installs anywhere their is a cross bar. On my desk I put it on the bars that my keyboard tray is attached to.

It has an adjustable strap that clips into itself so that way it doesn't slip off or come undone. Its heavy duty. The foot rest is very soft on the inside and padded.

It comes with a really well made face mask. I love how it basically molds to your face, and it has an adjustable strap as well. It is soft and slightly padded too. It fits so well that basically no amount of light comes through. It also doesn't hurt my face or nose which is a plus.

I've been using this little hammock for a little over a week now. Being able to kick back and relax at my desk is fantastic. Over all this is a great addition to any desk worker, traveler, etc. I love it!

It's small enough that you can easily fold it up and put in your purse, brief case, travel bag, suite case, carry-on, what ever. So packing it up and taking it with you is easy. From the makers they claim that their special design helps reduce lower back pain, stiffness and leg swelling suffered during long flights. The travel footrest is very useful for lengthening your foot, swing your legs to relieve fatigue and refreshing arriving feeling.
